Tiernan did an amazing job pre-op. He stayed cool, and calm the whole time. Partially this was due to his happy juice and his anesthesiologist downloading Minion Rush for him to play during the separation.
We are all just hanging out waiting for updates and just spoke with Hanley. His team of surgeons
did the incision and work to get through the scar tissue and he stayed out, watching on screen until it's time for him to go work his magic. So just before he went in, he came to talk with us. No major changes from the plan, except for Plan C. That is the Fontan route. Basically put, if the septation plans don't work, and he can determine that without much time on by-pass, then he might be inclined to do the Fontan in addition to the valve repair. If they have spent too much time on bypass or he's just not confident Tiernan would recover without difficulty, then he will avoid the Fontan and just repair the valve regurgitation.
It's great to know he is confident in the septation plans but the reality of his anatomy will determine it all.
Thanks for all your prayers and words of encouragement. They are keeping us going!
